Advocates, Mothers, Leaders: Halle Bailey & Faith Evans Honored

Halle Bailey continues to lead with grace and honesty. The City of Los Angeles honored the singer and actress with the “Halo Award” at Project Pit’s first annual Maternal Health Summit on August 16, 2025, celebrating her powerful advocacy in maternal health.

As a new mother, the Little Mermaid star stepped bravely into her truth, sharing her postpartum journey to uplift other women and shine a light on postpartum depression and the real realities of motherhood. Her openness has created a space where mothers, especially Black mothers, can feel valued, validated, and embraced.

Alongside of her was Faith Evans, who was also honored with the Impact Award for her work with her nonprofit, Ryder’s Room, Inc., an organization dedicated to supporting children with disabilities and their families. Through her ongoing advocacy and community work, Evans continues to embody what it means to serve with compassion and purpose.
