Nia Long Has Another Reunion Coming: Confirmed for "Are We There Yet" Franchise

 
The actress is reuniting with Ice Cube for the third installment of the Are We There Yet? franchise.

Nia Long is going back to a role she first played more than 20 years ago.

The actress will reprise her role as Suzanne Kingston in Are They Gone Yet?, the third film in the Are We There Yet? franchise, reuniting with Ice Cube, who will return as Nick Persons. The film is currently in development at Skydance Sports.

Long and Ice Cube first appeared together in the 2005 comedy Are We There Yet?, which followed Nick as he tried to win over Suzanne while taking her two children, Lindsey and Kevin, on a cross-country road trip.

The pair returned for Are We Done Yet? in 2007, with Nick and Suzanne now married and building a home together.

Nearly 20 years later, Suzanne and Nick are entering another chapter. This time, they have grandchildren.

Chris Hazzard and Mike Fontana are writing the new film. A director and release date have not yet been announced.

For Long, the reunion comes during another major chapter in her career. Earlier this year, she starred as Katherine Jackson in Michael, and she recently wrapped production on Netflix's Don't Ever Wonder, which reunites her with her Love Jones co-star Larenz Tate.

Long also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on September 16, honoring her more than three decades in film and television.

Now she's heading back to one of the roles that became part of her filmography in the 2000s. Nia Long and Ice Cube are getting back together. And this time, Suzanne and Nick have grandkids.
