Serayah, Tyler Lepley, and Phylicia Rashad are set to headline a modern retelling of the story of Ruth and Boaz.

Produced by DeVon Franklin (Jumping the Broom, The Pursuit of Happyness), Netflix is set to release R&B — a heartfelt drama following a young woman (Serayah) who leaves behind Atlanta’s music scene to care for an elderly widowed woman (Phylicia Rashad). Along the way, she finds not only the love of her life (Tyler Lepley) but also the mother she’s never had.

The story offers a modern retelling of the biblical tale of Ruth and Boaz.
